Phalaenopsis and cymbidium orchids are exceptional potted plants that fit
perfectly in today’s home.
Phalaenopsis are the most popular commercial orchids due to their long blooming period (up to 3 months) and elegance. They are principally available in white and lavender but also in soft yellows, dusty pinks, and an array of spotted and dotted flower faces. We source our young plants from the Netherlands and Asia and grow them in a blended bark in a 4.5” (12cm) grower pot. Cymbidiums are the largest commercial orchids and the most colorful. They range from 2” to 3 1/2’ tall with multiple flower spikes ranging in hue from white, to saffron and chartreuse, to amber and burgundy. They can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors (in mild climates) while blooming. Our plants come principally from breeders in Japan and Australia. We grow them 2 quart or 3 quart pots in a mix of bark, peat moss, and pumice.
